Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering child-care programs designed to foster children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth. This role involves direct interaction with children, guiding their daily routines, and working collaboratively with colleagues and community partners.
- Develop and implement engaging child-care programs that promote holistic child development.
- Lead educational and recreational activities, including storytelling, teaching songs, and organizing local outings.
- Provide guidance and support to children as they learn essential self-care habits like eating, dressing, and toilet training.
- Monitor children for any indications of potential learning or behavioural challenges and prepare detailed reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
- Establish and enforce clear behavioural guidelines for children.
- Cultivate and maintain cooperative relationships with fellow staff members and external community service providers focused on children’s well-being.
- Design and maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment for all children under care.
Requirements
- Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program lasting 3 months to less than 1 year.
- Experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
- Possession of an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Current CPR Certificate.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- A satisfactory criminal record check is mandatory for this position.
