What You Will Be Doing
As a Heavy Truck Driver with PARK BRICK BLOCK LTD., your day-to-day responsibilities will keep you engaged both behind the wheel and on the ground.
- Operating straight and articulated trucks to transport goods and construction materials between multiple sites.
- Driving lighter, special-purpose trucks when the situation calls for it.
- Loading and unloading goods at job sites — you are not just a driver, you are part of the ground crew.
- Running pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections — checking tires, lights, brakes, cold storage systems, and all essential equipment.
- Staying in communication with central dispatch to receive instructions and relay field updates.
- Keeping accurate records of cargo details, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Tarping and securing loads to ensure cargo safety during transport.
What You Need to Qualify
- Language: English proficiency (spoken and written).
- Education: No formal degree or diploma — experience matters most.
- Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on heavy truck driving. This is not an entry-level position.
- Licensing: Valid Class 1 / 1F / A Licence (semi-trailer trucks) and a standard Driver License (Class 1 or A).
- Bonus: Forklift Operator Certification is a strong asset.
Equipment and Work Environment
The fleet includes a variety of heavy-duty vehicles. You should be comfortable operating dump trucks, flatbed trucks, and tractor-trailer B-trains. The work setting involves remote locations and travel between various sites around Edmonton. Shift times are primarily early morning, morning, and daytime.
