Job Description

As a nanny for the Dekhter Family, you will be entrusted with the full care and supervision of children, alongside performing various household duties. This role requires flexibility for morning, day, and evening shifts, with potential for overtime, and involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and organized home environment. Travel with the family may also be required.

  • Supervise and provide complete care for children, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Prepare children for rest periods and instruct them in personal hygiene and social development.
  • Organize engaging activities, games, and outings for children.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals, and shop for food and household supplies.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and scent-free environment within the home.
  • Perform light housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, ironing, and pressing of household linens.
  • Tend to the emotional well-being of children and discipline them according to parental guidance.
  • Keep detailed records of children’s daily activities and health information.
  • Assume full household responsibility in the parents’ absence.
  • Transport children to and from school and appointments.
  • Travel with the family, providing child supervision and housekeeping support during trips.

Requirements

  • No formal degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
  • Minimum of 1 to less than 2 years of experience in childcare or a related field.
  • Proficiency in either English or French.
  • Must possess a valid First Aid Certificate.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with a valid work permit).
  • Successful completion of a Child Abuse Registry check, Child welfare check, Criminal record check, Drug test, Medical exam, Basic security clearance, and provide professional references.
  • Demonstrated personal suitability including client focus, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, initiative, judgment, organization, reliability, teamwork, time management, patience, and honesty.

Working Conditions and Benefits

  • Wage: $19.00 per hour for 40 hours per week.
  • Employment Type: Full-time, term or contract position (October 31, 2026, to October 31, 2028).
  • Hours: Mornings, days, evenings, and flexible hours; overtime may be required.
