Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging child-care programs that support children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development. This position requires hands-on involvement in daily activities and maintaining a safe, stimulating atmosphere for young learners.

• Design and implement child-care programs to support and promote children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
• Lead various activities including storytelling, teaching songs, and supervising excursions to local points of interest.
• Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
• Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural challenges and prepare relevant reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
• Establish clear guidelines for children’s behaviour within the centre.
• Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
• Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and overall well-being of all children.

Requirements

• A College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
• An Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate is mandatory.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Current CPR Certificate.
• Experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
• Must be able to successfully complete a criminal record check.
• Proficiency in English is required for communication.
